Weighted Grade Calculator

Enter each item's score and weight. See the course percent so far.

Weighted grade formula

Course % = sum(score × weight) ÷ sum(weights). If midterm is 30% and you scored 80, that item contributes 24 points. Weights do not have to add to 100 if some work is still missing — the result is your average on the work entered.

Worked example

Midterm 80% worth 30%, exam 70% worth 40%, labs 90% worth 30%: course mark = 0.30×80 + 0.40×70 + 0.30×90 = 79%.

If the syllabus drops the lowest quiz, remove that line before you total. A syllabus that says “exam 40% of the remaining grade” after a midterm is a different structure — this page needs weights that add to 100%.

Common questions

What if my syllabus uses points, not percents?

Put the same number in score and treat weight as the point value of that assignment.
